This is the easiest cherry pie you’ll ever make. And I definitely played this song while channeling Bobbi Brown in my kitchen this morning while I made it. I highly suggest you do the same.
I just showed you my Joy of Cooking sweet pie crust recipe over here, so I’m not going to bore you with it again. Other than that, here is what you need:
1 can tart pitted cherries, separated
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
3 Tbsp butter (in chunks)
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp almond extract
First set up your crust.
Next combine the sugar, flour, salt, almond extract, and juice from the cherries in a bowl. Then drop in the cherries.
Pour this into the prepared pie pan.
Throw the butter chunks on top. Use the remaining pie dough to create a lattice top.
Now throw that puppy in the oven, dance around like Bobbi Brown or Tawny Kitaen for an hour and you’ll have a golden, bubbly, scrumptious pie.
To serve to your golden, bubbly, scrumptious man. Hah.
