Who is the Naked Baker?

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog! If you’re reading this, it’s most likely because you want to know a little bit about me.  Well the best way to find out is to ask , since it’s a little awkward trying to turn who I am into a few paragraphs. So ask me a question in the comments section and I’ll get back to you.  A quick overview that relates to this site is that I’m a twenty something girl living in San Francisco, transplanted from Santa Cruz, finishing up my degree at SF State, and working at an art gallery.  I have a psuedo-quazi-business-side-project-thing making and selling sweet and creepy art dolls that you can check out at my other website: www.dreadfuldolls.com Please don’t let the awful web design scare you, it was the final project in a web design class awhile ago and I really haven’t given it any love since.

As for this site… which will be getting a lot of love…  I’ve been trolling blogs in related fields for awhile, and it seems that a lot of my interests are also very interesting to a ton of other people.  What are those interests?

Well the first is food. I love food! I love to eat, I love to cook, to bake, to watch people cook, to read about food, to look at the pretty little sweets in bakery cases… I find everything about food to be kind of awesome.  Now this doesn’t mean I’m any good at it, but it makes me happy and I’ve been practicing a lot, and if you’re a friend of mine you’ve most definitely gotten your share of baked goods pushed onto you.

While food will likely be what I focus on the most here, I figure that if I have other interests or skills and I’m writing a blog, I shouldn’t leave them out.  So I’ll also be talking about some books. I read a lot and I like to talk about what I’ve read, and I like to learn about what other people are reading.  So expect a little sugar for your mind now and then.

Finally, I threw in a category for crafting.  I am one crafty girl, and don’t you forget it.  Aside from the doll thing, I sew and craft other things on a pretty regular basis.  I make dresses, I make aprons, I make simple little stuffed things, and I also do a lot of non-sewing related crafting that I am going to share with you.

Now… I would definitely not be half as inspired or half as confident to go out and post all this if I didn’t have the two most amazing creatures in the world backing me up.  MyJo and the WeeWee.  The best taste testers, company keepers, and all around great helpers.  How can life be bad when you get to see these beautiful faces every day?
